Yet Another IProduct!

Apple just came out with their apple phone. This is another installment by Apple who has been playing catch up since Steve Jobs died. The apple Phone seems like over kill to me. Apple already has iMac, iPhone, iPad and iPad mini. This is just another tool to keep you locked into the web texting and updating and viewing Facebook, Instagram, and twitter. Apple is trying to turn people into cyborgs with all this technology all over the body. The funny thing is that there has been smart watches out for three or four years now. All of the major cell phone providers have one. Apple tried to make seem like this was a brand new innovation here. Apple is falling behind the pack instead of leading the pack but somehow is still on top of the heap.

  1. Damon, for the most part I completely agree that the hype created over Apple's constant new releases of similar products is a bit ridiculous at times. With that being said though, Apple surely knows how to corner certain markets and make unprecedented profits.

  2. I agree with you, but I say that as someone who loves my iPhone. I had an Android for years and thought it was all hype. It took some real pushing for my boyfriend to convince me to get one (FaceTime, he loves his, etc.), but after I bought one, I totally understood. The interface is awesome. Yes, though, Apple wisely made it sound like they had a completely new innovation, when in fact, you are correct, there have been smart watches for years. While I've never even looked into buying one, I'm sure they're at a lower price. I've heard the new Apple watch is mediocre and is having issues. Like I said, I love my iPhone, and will probably switch to a Mac next time I buy a computer (partly because I have an iPhone), but I totally get your disdain. And Brian's right, if there's one thing they know how to do, it's how to market effectively and make crazy high profits.

  4. Damon,

I don't necessarily think that Apple is falling behind, but they actually make sure everyone has a product that will serve there needs and wants. They also provide incredibly services especially when your having issues with one of their products coming from an iProduct freak.
